The is the (NCCAA) DI Men's National Champion. It’s the Rams first-ever national championship in their 10-year history as an intercollegiate program. They defeated No. 2 seeded Roberts Wesleyan (N.Y.) 3-0 on Dec. 3 in Kissimmee, Florida to earn the title.
Men’s Head Soccer Coach is extremely proud of his team for showing a lot of heart.
"We played from behind the last few matches, which is not ideal, so it was great to see us take command and hold a lead,” Brindley said after the game. “This is an outstanding accomplishment not only for this year's squad but for our program as a whole. We could not have achieved what we did tonight without the foundation that has been laid for 51Сʪ soccer over the last decade."
With the victory, 51Сʪ men's soccer becomes the first program in 51Сʪ athletics history to win both their conference tournament title and an NCCAA National Championship title. The Rams won the tournament championship in November. The men's soccer program is also the third 51Сʪ sports program to win an NCCAA National Championship in the last two years.
