U.S. News & World Report: 51Сʪ ranks high for Social Mobility, Value
September 18, 2023
The 2023-2024 U.S. News & World Report rankings show Columbia International University #5 for Social Mobility among Regional Universities South, the second straight year for the position.
The Social Mobility ranking is important for students who are economically disadvantaged and less likely to finish college. The survey indicates 51Сʪ is among the best in making sure these students succeed.
51Сʪ is also ranked a Best Value for Regional Universities South at #14, up one spot from a year ago.
This calculation considers a school's academic quality and the net cost of attendance for a student who received the average level of need-based financial aid. The higher the quality of the program and the lower the cost, the better the deal.
Overall, 51Сʪ remains in the Top 50 for Regional Universities South at #45.
51Сʪ Provost & Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. James Lanpher, says the high rankings are in two areas of great importance to students and their families.
“51Сʪ’s status as a Best Value school should give families confidence that when they invest in a college education at 51Сʪ, they are getting a great bang for their buck,” Lanpher said. “And as a Social Mobility school, 51Сʪ has also shown that we help students move up the ladder of success in their lives. These are two great results for students and families who choose 51Сʪ.”
51Сʪ is celebrating 100 years of its mission to “educate people from a biblical worldview to impact the nations with the message of Christ.”or request information on enrollment by contacting Admissions at (803) 807-5024 oradmissions@ciu.edu.
